Frantoio variety:

Frantoio is an Italian olive variety originally from the Tuscany region. Frantoio olives have excellent organoleptic characteristics therefore its EVOO is highly appreciated all around the World. The olive oil made from Frantoio olives has very high stability, which makes it suitable even for frying. Its oil has a fruity flavour with mild spicy and bitter notes. Typical aromas are fresh herb, tomato, lettuce, artichoke, apple, grain, rosemary, celery and almond.

Arbequina variety:

Olive oil made from Arbequina variety is aromatic, sweet and fruity with a little bitterness. Typical aromas: green grass, tomato, apple, banana, ripe fruit. Usually, oils made from the Arbequina variety have low oxidation resistance. Producers mix the Arbequina olive oil with other olive oils to increase the stability in terms of aroma, body and resistance to oxidation.

Cornicabra variety:

The oil extracted from Cornicabra olives has a high content of Oleocanthal. Typical aromas: green leaves, tomato and almond. Early harvested Cornicabra oil is intensively spicy and bitter. If the olives are harvested later in the season the oil can be more forgiving, sweet with notes of exotic fruits just as avocado. As it is a stable oil it is suitable for cooking and frying.

Picual variety:

The Picual olives are one of the most cultivated varieties of Spain. The olive oil extracted from Picual olives has a medium aromatic profile with pleasant notes of tomato, fig tree, olive leaf, and freshly cut grass. Its oil is also well known for its strong bitter- and spiciness. It is often mixed with other oil to soften its bitterness and enhance its fruity flavor. Thanks to its stability the olive oil extracted from Picual olive has a long shelf life and makes it stable for cooking or frying.

Hojiblanca variety:

Hojiblanca is the third most popular variety in Spain in terms of corp area. The provinces of Andalusia play a key role in Hojiblanca olive cultivation. Hojiblanca olives are used both for the production of table olives and olive oil. Olive Oil made from the Hojiblanca variety has a pleasant aroma of cut grass, fresh fruit with hints of almond, tomato and apple. The Olive Oil made from the Hojiblanca variety has intense fruitiness, is slightly bitter, sweet and spicy.

Deortegas Frantoio Organic EVOO - ElOlivo review:

We just call this oil “tutti fruity”. It is an amazingly fruity oil with a slight bite at the end. For us, the most amazing is sour cherry with floral note aromas. You will also feel some green apple and green almond when you smell the oil. In the mouth, the fruitiness continues with a bit stronger presence of green apple and dried fruits. We only use it raw. One of our favourite oil for dressing any salads, dipping with cheese plates. We think it is perfect for finishing every vegetable dish. We strongly recommend this oil, it is just amazing.

Deortegas Arbequina Organic EVOO - ElOlivo review:

This is a delicate EVOO with amazingly fresh green aromas such as banana, apple and almond. It is sweet and well balanced with a slight spiciness at the end. We were amazed by the fresh aromas of this oil, this is what makes this EVOO exceptional. We use it only raw, for dressing salads, soups or making sauces. We also tried it with our homemade Basque Cheese Cake and it was delicious. We use also this oil for making Basil Pesto. Pairs perfectly with the pine nuts and the Grana Padano.

This is a perfect organic monovarietal Picual olive oil. It delivers all of the classic aromas of the Picual olives such as green grass, tomato leaves with hints of apple and herbs. In mouth green banana and tomato with a pleasing proportion of pungency and bitterness. This is how a perfect Picual olive oil should be. Premium quality ‘all-rounder’ olive oil. You can use it raw or for cooking and frying, it is up to you.

Deortegas Hojiblanca Organic EVOO - ElOlivo review:

One of the best monovarietal hojiblanca organic olive oil. Beautiful green aromas, artichoke, green banana, freshly cut grass. In the mouth extremely balanced pungency and bitterness. At the tasting, you will also notice a slight green almond. We use it only raw to dress our salads or any veg or fish dishes. The packaging of the oil is also beautiful and it comes with a gift box. If you are going for dinner to your friends take this oil instead of a bottle of wine, we are sure your friends will much appreciate it.
