Advantages of bag-in-box packaging:
One of the main advantages of bag-in-box packaging is its environmental friendliness. Both the box and bag components are recyclable, making it a highly recyclable option with a low environmental impact.
The inner bag is composed of multiple layers and is free of phthalates and pollutants, ensuring a safe and clean packaging solution.
Bag-in-box packaging helps keep the enclosed EVOO in optimal conditions. The hermetic seals effectively protect the oil from light, high temperatures, and oxidation, thus preserving the product in excellent condition for an extended period.
Moreover, this packaging method ensures that all the physico-chemical and organoleptic characteristics of the extra virgin olive oil remain intact for a longer duration.
The two-litre format of bag-in-box packaging includes a tap, providing the convenience of easy and hygienic dispensing.
The hexagon shape, found in natural phenomena such as beehives, basalt, insect eyes, foam, and snowflakes, represents the complexity and wisdom of the environment. This same shape is now embodied in the new Bag-in-Box Deortegas! Deortegas Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oils are sourced directly from nature, creating an unbreakable bond with it.

The oil extracted from Cornicabra olives has a high content of Oleocanthal. Typical aromas: green leaves, tomato and almond. Early harvested Cornicabra oil is intensively spicy and bitter. If the olives are harvested later in the season the oil can be more forgiving, sweet with notes of exotic fruits such as avocado. As it is a stable oil it is suitable for cooking and frying.
About Almazara Deortegas:
Established in 2008, Almazara Deortegas is a vibrant, family-owned business operating on a sprawling 170-hectare estate with an impressive 33,000 olive trees. Despite its youthful existence, the Deortegas family boasts over 30 years of expertise in crafting organic olive oils. They are dedicated to maintaining a non-intensive traditional farming approach that places a strong emphasis on respect for the land, yielding exceptional organic olive oil as a result. Over time, the family has cultivated an integrated and sustainable agricultural model, ensuring that all by-products of olive oil production are recycled.
Almazara Deortegas stands as an exemplary organic company, inspiring us to cherish and protect our natural environment. Their extra virgin olive oils (EVOOs) have earned numerous accolades on both the national (Spanish) and international stages. The Deortegas EVOOs are far from mass-produced; their focus is squarely on delivering quality and promoting sustainability.
This olive oil is truly exceptional, offering a delightful range of flavors that never fail to surprise and delight. Its aroma is both fine and delicate, featuring fruity notes reminiscent of green tomatoes, apples, bananas, and green almonds, complemented by subtle hints of basil. When you taste it, you'll be pleasantly surprised by its sweetness and harmonious flavor, followed by the classic, distinguished pungency and bitterness of the Cornicabra variety. It's our go-to choice for drizzling over roasted potatoes, tomato, and goat cheese salad, and it works wonders in the kitchen for preparing stews and casseroles. I wholeheartedly recommend this outstanding quality oil.
