Koroneiki variety:

The Koroneiki olive variety holds the top spot as the most favoured in Greece, making up over 60% of the country's total olive production. This preference is largely due to the ability of the sturdy Koroneiki tree to yield high-quality oil. Beyond Greece, this olive variety has gained popularity in other countries, thanks to its remarkable adaptability to super high-density cultivation. The olive oil derived from Koroneiki olives is known for its exceptional stability and positive organoleptic characteristics. It exhibits medium to high-intensity aromas, including hints of apple, almond, banana, and green grass. Furthermore, Koroneiki olive oil boasts a substantial oleic acid content, ranging between 76% and 80%.

About Aceite Artajo:

The rich history of Artajo olive oil begins around the year 1780, with the Artajo family's decision to transform their olive oil and wine production into a thriving business. Over the course of approximately two centuries, the world turned upside down, but the Artajo Family continued its legacy of producing olive oil and wine until 1960.

In 1960, they decided to temporarily close the family business for a short period of 38 years. In 1998, Maria Dolores Artajo and Francisco Urzaiz breathed new life into the family legacy by reopening the business. They embarked on the reconstruction of the family mill, incorporating the latest technology, and successfully revitalized 85,000 Arbequina trees on the family estate.

Today, the Artajo estate spans 225 hectares of olive groves, boasting around 220 thousand trees. Aceite Artajo stands out as one of the rock stars in the world of olive oil. Picture this: within a mere two hours after harvest, the olives are processed in the mill, transforming into the amazing EVOO. Such remarkable performance is a testament to the unwavering dedication and effort invested.

One of our dreams came true when we received the first shipment from the Artajo Farm. We really love everything they make, and we're sure you'll enjoy the awesomeness they put into each EVOO they create!

ElOlivo Review:

Guess what? Koroneiki is head over heels for Navarra! We've already got a fantastic Koroneiki EVOO from La Maja farm in Navarra that we adore. It's so good that we couldn't resist getting more of that special 'Navarran' Koroneiki. This oil is just as incredible as La Maja's, boasting fresh green fruity aromas like green apple, hints of green tomato, and the delightful touch of aromatic herbs such as basil and mint. When you taste it, you'll experience amazing notes of red fruits and herbs, coupled with a perfect balance of medium bitterness and spiciness. Being a Koroneiki EVOO, it's your go-to for cooking, dressing, finishing, or even baking. Trust us, this oil is a winner – it's simply delicious. It looks like Koroneiki has found its happy place in Navarra. Enjoy the goodness!
