ElOlivo Review - Casas de Hualdo Reserva de Familia Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500ml) - Picual, Arbequina, Cornicabra & Manzanilla Blend:

The 2023 Casas de Hualdo Reserva is an incredibly fruity oil. It's got these amazing scents of tomato leaf, green apple, fresh grass, and rocket. When you taste it, you'll experience a burst of green fruitiness with hints of wasabi. It's got a medium to high level of spiciness and a moderate bitterness. This oil is a masterpiece from Casas de Hualdo. But let me tell you, it's not for the faint of heart – it's bold and sharp. We save it for the weekends, using it to add that extra special touch to our meats, fish, and veggies. It's a must-try, no doubt about it!

ElOlivo review - Quattrociocchi Superbo Bio Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500ml) - 100% Moraiolo:

The Superbo of this year is absolutely delightful! It's no surprise, given the consistently fantastic taste that the Quattrociocchi family always brings to the table. This oil boasts lovely green aromas of olives, fresh grass, olive leaves, and a hint of lettuce, with subtle vegetable notes and a touch of bitter almond. On the palate, it's a burst of rich vegetable flavors with distinct herbaceous notes. And oh my, its bitterness and spiciness are quite a delightful surprise! This oil isn't for the faint-hearted - it's bold and full of character. We love using it both raw and for cooking, especially in pasta dishes. It pairs wonderfully with vegetables and fish, making oven-baked mackerel a real treat. Just a few simple ingredients - fresh mackerel, sea salt, black pepper, a squeeze of lemon, and the Superbo - create magic. It's simple yet absolutely amazing. We're pretty confident you'll fall head over heels for its intense aromas and flavors!

ElOlivo Review -  Viola Nuovo Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500ml) - Frantoio & Leccino Blend:

This oil is truly exceptional. As its name, 'NUOVO,' implies - meaning new - it represents the initial batch of the 2023/24 harvest season. Holding a special significance for the Viola family, it symbolizes the ongoing legacy of their heritage and serves as an annual reminder that olive oil is a genuine gift of nature. The Viola Nuovo stands out as the freshest oil currently available in our shop. We consider ourselves fortunate to have a limited stock of this oil. With its beautiful and intense aromas, featuring herbaceous notes of freshly mown grass, alongside scents of mint, tomato, and artichoke, this oil promises a unique experience. Upon tasting, it delivers a fruity green olive flavor with subtle hints of artichoke, sage, and mint. The taste is clear and distinct, characteristic of freshly pressed oil, offering a medium to low bitterness and medium to high spiciness, making it an intense experience. Everything that leaves the Viola farm is impeccable, but this particular oil, with its distinctive meaning and freshness, certainly falls into the must-try category. Enjoy!
