Coratina variety:

The Coratina olive variety, native to Puglia, Italy, has been cultivated for centuries, deeply embedded in the region’s agricultural heritage. Thriving in dry, rocky soils, it is known for its resilience and ability to produce high-quality extra virgin olive oil with remarkable stability and longevity. The oil it yields is intensely fruity, with bold bitterness and spiciness, attributed to its high polyphenol content. It boasts rich aromas of fresh almonds, green grass, artichoke, and aromatic herbs, creating a complex and well-balanced profile.

About Azienda Bisceglie Maria:

The Girone-Bisceglie family has been working in agriculture for generations, always refining their techniques to ensure sustainable, high-quality farming that respects nature’s rhythms.

Luigi and Vito grew up among the olive trees in Ganga di Lupo, chasing their father Michele’s tractor and learning to appreciate the land’s gifts. Their mother, Maria, instilled in them the values of patience, dedication, and hard work, which they now carry into every step of their olive oil production.

On their 15 hectares of olive groves, they produce 800-900 quintals of Coratina olives each year. In 2017, they took a big step forward, deciding to oversee the entire process themselves—from harvesting to bottling—choosing the best cold-press extraction methods to ensure the finest quality. That’s how Olio GangaLupo was born—a truly exceptional, carefully crafted extra virgin olive oil.

This oil isn’t just a product; it’s a labor of love, tradition, and passion. A real Italian olive oil, made by a family that pours its heart into every bottle, striving for perfection in every drop. We’re super proud to work with them and bring their incredible oil to your table!

ElOlivo Review:

We’re beyond excited to bring you Luigi and Vito’s amazing EVOO from Bari, made from the legendary Coratina variety—this oil is something special!

It’s rich, bold, and packed with character, with aromas of wild artichoke and chicory, balanced by fresh green herbs like rosemary, sage, and mint. The flavor is beautifully complex, with notes of green almond, cinnamon, and a peppery kick. It’s got that bold spiciness and bitterness, but everything is perfectly in harmony.

We absolutely love every drop of it—it’s the true taste of Bari, and we’re so proud to have it in our shop. If you’re a fan of robust, spicy, and bitter oils, this one’s a must-try! And with its high polyphenol content, it’s not just delicious but good for you too.

We drizzle it on veggies, meats, aged cheeses, and of course, it takes pasta dishes to the next level. Just grab an Italian cookbook, use this oil in any recipe, and you’ll taste the difference. A must-have for every kitchen—enjoy!
