A high-quality conventional Extra Virgin Olive Oil perfect for everyday use. This oil is a well-balanced blend of Picual and Arbequina varieties, offering a harmonious combination of flavor and versatility.

Picual variety:

The Picual olives are one of the most cultivated varieties of Spain. The olive oil extracted from Picual olives has a medium aromatic profile with pleasant notes of tomato, fig tree, olive leaf, and freshly cut grass. Its oil is also well known for its strong bitter- and spiciness. It is often mixed with other oil to soften its bitterness and enhance its fruity flavor. Thanks to its stability the olive oil extracted from Picual olive has a long shelf life and makes it stable for cooking or frying.

Arbequina variety:

Olive oil made from the Arbequina variety is aromatic, sweet and fruity with a little bitterness. Typical aromas: green grass, tomato, apple, banana, ripe fruit. Usually, oils made from the Arbequina variety have low oxidation resistance. Producers mix the Arbequina olive oil with other olive oil to increase the stability in terms of aroma, body and resistance to oxidation.

About García de la Cruz:

García de la Cruz is a cherished family business with a rich history spanning 148 years. It was founded in 1872 by Adelaida Fernández-Cuéllar, a visionary woman who built the company with dedication and perseverance. Her husband, Federico, worked as an attorney and public administrator, while Adelaida took on the remarkable challenge of growing their family business—an inspiring achievement, especially at a time when women’s roles were often confined to the home.

In 1931, their daughter, Guadalupe, took over the company, continuing her mother’s legacy. Over the years, the business has been passed down through three more generations, reaching the fifth generation today. Currently, Fernando García de la Cruz Pascual and Eusebio García de la Cruz Pascual manage the family farm, which spans 400 hectares and is home to 120,000 trees.

Today, García de la Cruz is known internationally for its exceptional products. The company is deeply committed to sustainability, prioritizing environmentally friendly agricultural techniques such as monitored drip irrigation and fertigation (drip fertilization). They also ensure that nothing goes to waste—byproducts from the olive oil-making process, including olive skins, pits, and pulp, are composted and transformed into natural organic fertilizers.

Additionally, García de la Cruz actively contributes to global sustainability efforts by aligning its operations with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Perhaps the key to García de la Cruz’s lasting success is its guiding philosophy: rather than focusing solely on profit, the company is dedicated to securing a bright future for the next generation of the family.

ElOlivo review:

This EVOO is a great "all-rounder," as we like to call it. It has fruity aromas of tomato, ripe banana, and dried fruits, with subtle notes of fresh grass.

On the palate, the flavors of dried fruits and nuts stand out, complemented by a bold spiciness and pungency that add depth and character. Its balanced profile makes it versatile for a wide range of dishes.

We use it as an everyday oil, both for cooking and drizzling raw. Whenever we make a stew, this is our go-to choice, as it enhances the richness of slow-cooked dishes. It also pairs beautifully with grilled vegetables, fresh salads, and even as a finishing touch on warm, crusty bread. Whether for daily use or special occasions, this EVOO never disappoints.
