ElOlivo Review - Acushla Golden Edition Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500ml) - Cobrançosa, Madural, Verdeal & Cordovil Blend
For a while now, we've had our attention on ACHSLA, and we're thrilled to share some exciting news with you. We've just welcomed a truly wonderful oil into our selection, and what makes it even more special is that it's our very first import from Portugal. With great confidence, we believe that ACHSLA stands among the top ten oil producers in Portugal – quite an achievement!
Let's take a closer look and discover what sets this oil apart. To start, it's a unique blend of four traditional Portuguese olive varieties: Cobrançosa, Madural, Verdeal, and Cordovil. Notably, this oil holds a special PDO certificate from Trás-os-Montes, adding to its authenticity. But what truly makes this oil shine are its rich and intricate flavors. Picture the delightful aromas of tomato, banana, and white apple, harmoniously mingling with the invigorating notes of green herbs like basil, parsley, and mint. Upon tasting, you might even catch subtle hints of lettuce, celery, and a touch of green almond. This oil strikes an impeccable balance, offering a medium level of both bitterness and spiciness. We are genuinely thrilled to have this exceptional oil now gracing our shelves. Our enthusiasm is hard to contain when it comes to recommending that you give it a try – its complexity truly is a marvel. Our journey with this remarkable oil began when we incorporated it into our focaccia recipe, and the results were nothing short of astonishing. We added it to the dough and generously drizzled it on top before baking. The outcome? Pure perfection. This oil possesses a magical quality that can effortlessly elevate ordinary bread into something truly extraordinary. Enjoy!

ElOlivo Review - Deortegas Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500 ml) - 100% Hojiblanca
One of the best monovarietal hojiblanca organic olive oil. Beautiful green aromas, artichoke, green banana, freshly cut grass. In the mouth extremely balanced pungency and bitterness. At the tasting, you will also notice a slight green almond. We use it only raw to dress our salads or any veg or fish dishes. The packaging of the oil is also beautiful and it comes with a gift box. If you are going for dinner to your friends take this oil instead of a bottle of wine, we are sure your friends will much appreciate it.

ElOlivo Review - Casas de Hualdo Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500ml) - Cornicabra & Arbequina Blend
This year's Organic Casas de Hualdo is absolutely amazing, just like always. The oils from Casas de Hualdo keep getting better with each passing year. Let's talk about the 2023 Organic; this oil is definitely not mild. It has these incredible green aromas of fresh tomatoes, rocket, and bitter green almonds. When you taste it, you'll notice some sweet veggie flavours along with a touch of green fruitiness, but then the bitterness and spiciness kick in. We were blown away by its complexity. So, it's not a gentle oil, but it's truly lovable. We use it for both cooking and finishing, especially with vegetable dishes. Our favorite combination is roasted eggplant with Mojo sauce and a side of Greek yogurt sprinkled with black sesame seeds. Enjoy!
